We did not check the results in the laboratory, but the values ​​shown by Xiaomi Mi TDS Pen are quite in line with expectations.

Four types of water were compared from one pipe:

Hot
Cold
Filtered (reverse osmosis filter)
Filtered (reverse osmosis filter), passed through the mineralizer
Hot water, which is also often called technical, predictably showed the worst result in the region of 300+ units. Cold water was slightly cleaner - 240 units.

As a device for water treatment, a Ukrainian standard filter was used: a reverse osmosis membrane (manufactured in the USA), and several prefilter filters.

The usual filtered water showed a result just above 20 PPM, that is, according to TDS standards it is very clean. If it is passed through the mineralizer in addition, the predicted TDS will increase, but not much. Up to 30 PPM, so that water can still be considered clean ..

I was not sure in the quality of the water what we are drinking home, this is why i was ordering the product. The quality of the product is really good, really easy to use, just put the pen to the water what you would like to check and press the button. If you are pressing that button again, device is turning off. Really fast you can check the result. I was comparing the water at home with some mineral waters, and the mineral waters had a little bit better (lower) scores. Unfortunately the box and the small guide is only in Chinese, but luckily on the Gearbest website you can see in English which score is meaning which water quality. The product has a cap, what is saving the pen. You don't need to buy batteries, the pen is containing the 2 batteries, what you can reach if you remove the cap the other side of the pen. Recommended product.
